A 50-acre piece of stunning nature, Henteleff Park is situated in Winnipeg at 1964 St. Mary's Road. The Henteleff Park Foundation's main objective is the enhancement and preservation of the Park's distinctive landscape through the planting of native trees and shrubs and the eradication of invasive kinds of plants. The Foundation also provides historical and natural history interpretation in addition to maintaining trails. People can enjoy the riparian forest, observe birds and other wildlife, learn about the history of the area, and take part in the park's re-naturalization through a range of volunteer options in the Park.
Role responsibilities:
Prairie Pals remove and dispose of invasive weeds from our 1.5 acre prairie restoration. Orientation will be provided.
Required skills:
- It is crucial to understand gardening and weed identification
- The ability to tell native flora apart from weeds is an asset
- The ability to adhere to directions, pluck weeds while bending or kneeling, raise, and discard them
Time commitment:
Volunteers work every 7 - 10 days at a time that is convenient to them (Daytime, Evening, Weekend)
